Learn. Embody. Inspire.....
Dawn provides a safe container for you to dive deeper into your practice and learning with regular workshops and teacher trainings.
Her most recent offering is a gathering of 8 years teaching in yoga outreach settings and nearly 4 years teaching in Scottish prisons.
Introduction to Teaching Yoga in Prisons
Open to Yoga teachers or teachers in training of any lineage/tradition. Also open to dedicated yoga students who have an interest in this kind of work.
In this workshop I will outline the many challenges that can come up in getting classes started and in the actual carrying out of the class. Why these challenges can happen and what to do about it. Many things learned here would also be helpful in many yoga outraech settings not just prisons and also making you more aware of how to deal with unexpected things that can come up even in more maintream classes.
There will be plenty of time for group discussion and questions, and all will be related back to just how sacred this work is. How the asana and pranayama are the setting stones to build a daily meditation practice, and just how helpful that can be in these settings. With encouragement and some guidance to start your own daily meditation practice if you havent already.
Handouts included, I will also give a couple of books recommended to read before, however this is not a requirement to attend.
Timings: Saturday 13th April, 9.30am - 1pm.
